Break out (phrasal verb)

●If something dangerous or unpleasant breaks out, it suddenly starts.(爆發,突然發生)

Examples:  

1.The fire must have broken out during the night.  

2.The First World War broke out in 1914.

Fled to sth (phrasal verb)

●To escape to something or some place.

(逃向…,逃避到…)

Examples:  

1.We fled to our little place on the coast. They never found us.  

2.The little mouse fled to its hole in the wall when the cat came around.

In the meantime (idiom)

●While something else is being done or was being done.(在此期間,與此同時)

Examples:  

1.A new school is being built, but in the meantime this school building remains seriously overcrowded.  

2.She spent four years studying for her law degree. In the meantime, she continued to work at the bank.

Take a risk (idiom)

●To proceed in an action without regard to the possibility of danger involved in it.(冒險)

Examples:  

1.I'm taking a real risk hiring this guy, so you had better be right about him.  

2.You're never going to find real success unless you're willing to take a risk now and then.

Feel one's way (idiom)

●To act slowly and carefully because you are not certain how to do something.

(摸索着行事,謹慎行事)

Examples:  

1.I've only been at the job two months, so I'm still feeling my way.  

2.Until we know who we're dealing with, we'll have to feel our way.
