11月初，本地一家巴士公司實施一項短期的「即日回程八折車資折扣優惠計劃」，這項優惠是按照與政府協議有關回饋乘客的安排而實施的（A local bus company has introduced a short-term"20% Same-day Return Discount Concession Scheme" in accordance with the passenger reward arrangement agreed with the Government.）。

　　"Concession" 有優惠的意思。政府也有「政府長者及合資格殘疾人士公共交通票價優惠計劃」（Government Public Transport Fare Concession Scheme for the Elderly and Eligible Persons with Disabilities），旨在讓長者和合資格殘疾人士，以優惠票價乘搭指定公共交通工具及服務，鼓勵他們融入社區，建立關愛共融的社會。

　　另外，"Concession" 也可解作寬減。政府於上月初發出新聞稿，表示本年10月至12月季度徵收差餉及／或地租通知書經已發出。通知書已計算季度的差餉寬減，每個評估差餉物業以港幣1000元為上限（The demand notes reflect the rates concession for this quarter, subject to a ceiling of HKD1000 for each rateable tenement.）。

　　"Concession" 也跟選舉拉上關係，當中是候選人政綱中提出的各種優惠，選舉完結時，落選的候選人會發言，這個發言就稱為 "Concession speech"。本月中美國總統大選，不少人對結果感到驚訝，更有報道指頓時很多人查詢移居加拿大的資料，令網絡應付不了。落敗的希拉里發表的敗選演說中提到對特朗普要持開放態度，給他一個領導國家發展的機會。（"We owe him an open mind and the chance to lead", Clinton said in her concession speech.）。
