  A rung on/of the ladder (idiom)

  ● One of the stages or levels in something such as a process or organization, through which it is possible to rise or make progress.(梯級,層次)

  Examples:  

  1.Once you rise a few rungs up the ladder, life becomes easier.

   2.I started my life on the bottom rung of the ladder in this company.

  Rezone (verb)

  ●To assign (land or property) to a different category of restrictions on use and development.

  Examples:  

  1.They submitted a proposal to rezone part of the Brooklyn waterfront.  

  2.The site was farmland and required a rezoning to proceed with construction.

  Step up (phrasal verb)

  ●To increase.(加強,增加)

  Examples:  

  1.The factory stepped up production to meet the growing demand.

  2.The president has stepped up the pressure on the groups to come to an agreement.

  Give thought to (sth) (idiom)

  ●To consider, reflect upon, or think hard about something.(考慮)

  Examples:  

  1.Have you given any thought to my proposal?  

  2.After I have had time to give some thought to the matter, I will call you.

  Once and for all (idiom)

  ●Completely and finally.

  (徹底地,永久地,一勞永逸地)

  Examples:

  1.We have to resolve this matter once and for all.  

  2.If we act fast, we can once and for all prevent wild animals in Britain from suffering terrible cruelty.
