Put up (phrasal verb)

● If you put up a poster or notice, you fix it to a wall or board. (舉起;張貼)

Examples:  

1.They're putting new street signs up.  

2.The teacher training college put up a plaque to the college's founder.

Hand sth down (phrasal verb)

●To announce an official decision, often a decision about how someone should be punished.(宣布)

Examples:

1.The family believes that the sentence handed down by the judge is too lenient.

2.The court handed down an eight-year sentence.

Clear out (phrasal verb)

●To impel or force to leave a place.

(強使離開,清場)

Examples:  

1.If we call the cops, they'll clear out that raucous house party immediately.  

2.The fire alarm cleared the building out in a hurry.

Wear sb out (Phrasal verb)

●To make someone feel very tired.

(使精疲力盡)

Examples:  

1.If he wears out everybody on the team, nobody will be left to play in the game.  

2.She was worn out from looking after her elderly mother.

Hurl sth at sb (phrasal verb)

●To throw something at someone.

((將某物)猛擲向某人)

Examples:  

1.The tribesmen picked up great rocks to hurl at us.  

2.He hurled his shoe at me.
