  Not that (idiom)

  ●Used before a sentence or phrase to mean the opposite of what follows it.(並非,不是說)

  Examples:  

  1.Not that I don't want to go, I just haven't got the time.  

  2.She  wouldn't tell me how much it cost - not that I was really interested.

  The order of the day (idiom)

  ●Something that is a priority is a certain situation or at a given time; something that is very common or important.(最重要的事)

  Examples:

  1.While you are in  school, studying is the order of the day, not playing.  

  2.Of these TV channels, reality shows and repeats are becoming the order of the day.

  Bring forth sth (phrasal verb)

  ●To produce something; to cause a particular reaction.

  (提出,出示)

  Examples:  

  1.He has the ability to bring forth new ideas when they are needed.  

  2.The announcement of the rate hike brought forth many complaints from consumers.

  Suit one's actions to one's words (idiom)

  ●To behave in accordance with what one has said; to do what one has promised or threatened to do.

  (言出必行,言行一致)

  Examples:  

  1.Tom suited his actions to his words and punished his son.  

  2.John threatened to quit, and when his didn't get his way, he suited his actions to his words.

  Lay down sth (phrasal verb)

  ●To state something plainly especially as an official rule.(規定,擬訂)

  Examples:

  1.The EU has laid down tough standards  for water quality.

  2.The coach laid down the rules from the first day of practice.
