To sb's disappointment (phrase)

●To make someone disappointed.(令……失望)

Examples:  

1.Jackson cancelled the concert, to the great disappointment of his fans.  

2.To my disappointment, the book was out of print.

Pale in comparison (idiom)

●To seem much less serious or important when compared with someone or something else.

  (相形見絀,相形失色)

Examples:  

1.The film was enjoyable, but it pales in comparison to the 1975 original.  

2.Although the issue of drug abuse is indeed serious, it pales in comparison with the threat of homelessness that is tearing the country apart.

Bring sb/sth along (phrasal verb)

●To take someone or something with you when you go somewhere.

Examples:  

1.They are expected to bring along enough school work to keep themselves busy.  

2.If we go to the movies, you may bring along your friends.

Year-on-year; year-over-year (adjective)

●Used to compare financial results with those of the same period in the previous year.

(與去年同一時期相比,同比)

Examples:  

1.Earnings per share are up 10% year over year.  

2.Profits were down 11% on a year-over-year basis.

Sooner or late (idiom)

●used to say that you do not know exactly when something will happen, but you are certain that it will happen.(遲早(的事),早晚(會發生))

Examples:  

1.Sooner or later she's going to realize what a mistake she's made.  

2.He'll have to pay the bill sooner or later.
