Face off (phrasal verb)

●If people or groups face off, they compete or fight with each other.(對決,對立)

Examples:  

1.Soldiers and protesters faced off during riots.  

2.The two teams will face off in a second game on Saturday.

The run-up to sth (idiom)

●The period of time just before an important event.

  (在…之前)

Examples:  

1.There's so much to do in the run-up to Christmas.  

2.These performances are part of the run-up to the Center's anniversary celebrations.

See to (sb/sth) (idiom)

●To care for, attend to, or deal with someone or something.

Examples:  

1.I'll see to the guests, if you wouldn't mind getting the table ready.

2.Would you see to changing the sheets on the beds upstairs?

A world apart (idiom)

●completely different from.(極其不同)

Examples:  

1.The neighborhood she lives in now is a world apart from the small town where she grew up.  

2.Their lives, too, are shaped by the military, with its frequent moves and a lifestyle a world apart from that of civilians.

At a disadvantage (idiom)

●In an unfavorable position in comparison to others.

  (處於劣勢)

Examples:  

1.Anyone not familiar with the Internet is at a serious disadvantage.  

2.You'll be at a disadvantage playing tennis against someone as skilled as Katie.
