  Pave the way (for sb/sth) (idiom)

  ●To create a situation in which it is easier for someone to do something or something to happen.

  (為…鋪平道路,為…做好準備)

  Examples:  

  1.The new legislation paves the way for banks to repossess people's homes no matter what the circumstance.  

  2.Everyone knows your father paved the way for you to get into this school with his money and connections.

  In view of (sth) (idiom)

  ●Taking into account something; considering something.(以…的觀點,從…來看)

  Examples:  

  1.In view of the shortage of time, each person may only speak for five minutes.  

  2.In view of his good behavior, the parole board has decided to consider early release.

  Give preference to sb/sth (idiom)

  ●To treat someone or something better than someone or something else, or to give an advantage to someone or something.

   (優先考慮…,給…優先權)

  Examples:  

  1.We give preference to those who have worked with us for a long time.  

  2.The scholarship committee will give preference to students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

  Show forth sth (phrasal verb)

  ●To exhibit something.(顯示)

  Examples:  

  1.The heavens show forth the glory of God.

  2.Parents may say that we believe in certain values and virtues, but fail to show them forth in our lives.

  Keep on with sth (phrasal verb)

  ●To continue with something.(繼續,不停)

  Examples:  

  1.Just keep on with your work. Don't pay any attention to me.  

  2.Can I keep on with this while you are talking?
