Do without (sth) (idiom)

●To manage despite the absence of something.

  (將就,湊合,設法應付)

Examples:  

1.Since we're short of money for supplies, you'll have to do without.  

2.We had to do without a telephone on the island.

Taboo (noun)

An action or word that is prohibited for religious or social reasons.(忌諱,禁忌)

Examples:  

1.In this society there is a taboo on/against any sort of public display of affection.  

2.One of the strongest taboos in all modern societies is against incest.

(As) clear as day (idiom)

●If something is as clear as day, it is very easy to see, or very obvious and easy to understand.

  (顯而易見的,一清二楚的)

Examples:  

1.It's as clear as day that the government is going to win the election.  

2.Although it's written on the door as clear as day, people still don't realize that this room is private.

From A to Z (idiom)

●Including everything; completely.

(從頭到尾,徹底,完全)

Examples:  

1.If you complete all the steps from A to Z, the mission is a success.

2.This book tells the story of her life from A to Z.

Leave hanging (in the air/midair) (idiom)

●To keep undecided, uncertain, or in suspense; to fail to solve a difficult situation.(懸而未決)

Examples:  

1.It was obvious that this issue could not just be left hanging.  

2.She couldn't figure out a good ending for the book, so her audience was left hanging in midair.
