  Epitomise (verb)

  ●To be a perfect example of a quality or type of thing.  (是……的典範、象徵、縮影)

  Examples:  

  1.With little equipment and unsuitable footwear, she epitomises the inexperienced and unprepared mountain walker.  

  2.The company epitomised the problems faced by British industry.  

  Someone's true colors (idiom)

  ●The kind of person someone really is rather than what the person seems to be.

  (某人的真實面目)

  Examples:  

  1.I thought he was a really sweet guy, but then he got mad and showed his true colours.  

  2.He didn't show his true colours until they made him chairman.

  Rip sth apart (phrasal verb)

  Tear something into pieces; to destroy something completely. (撕碎,摧毀)

  Examples:

  1.Don't rip apart the newspaper!  

  2.The explosion ripped the bus apart.

  Dyed-in-the-wool (adj.)

  ●Through and through; complete.

   (徹頭徹尾的,徹底的,完全的)

  Examples:  

  1.He is dyed-in-the-wool reformer.  

  2.My uncle was a dyed-in-the-wool farmer. He wouldn't change for anything.

  Come into being (idiom)

  ●To begin to exist or happen.

   (出現,產生,開始存在)

  Examples:  

  1.The story of how the university came into being is quite fascinating.  

  2.This company only came into being through the hard work of my talented staff.
