  Be subject to sth (idiom)

  ●likely to experience or suffer from something.

    (遭受,受…的影響)

  Examples:  

  1.All flights are subject to delay.  

  2.If the plants are growing well, they'll be less subject to pests.

  Spark off (phrasal verb)

  ●To make something happen, especially something involving violence or angry feelings.

    (引發,導致)

  Examples:  

  1.The visit of the G20 leaders sparked off (= caused the start of) mass demonstrations.  

  2.The trial sparked off widespread rioting in London.

  Keep pace (with sb/sth) (idiom)

  ●To develop or progress at the same rate as someone or something else.(跟上,同步)

  Examples:  

  1.The government is not allowing salaries to keep pace with inflation.  

  2.She works so fast that I can't keep pace with her.

  Pick up (phrasal verb)

  ●To increase in speed or amount.(增加,增強)

  Examples:  

  1.Economic growth is expected to pick up next year.The truck picked up speed slowly.  

  2.The number of applicants will pick up during the autumn.

  Trifle with sb/sth (phrasal verb)

  ●To treat someone or something carelessly or without respect.(小看,輕視,怠慢,玩弄)

  Examples:  

  1.Don't talk that way to me! I am not to be trifled with.  

  2.He trifled with her affections.
