Yesterday, not only Leung and Yau made their efforts to illegally charge into the Chamber, but several opposition legislators including Civic Party's Claudia Mo Man-ching also went so far as to aid and abet the evildoers, forming a human chain to escort the pair into the Chamber. This made the situation hard for the security guards to handle, and as a result, the pair managed to force their way into the Chamber to disrupt the meeting. The other day when the Leung-Yau duo's evil behaviour the other day of openly insulted the nation and advocated "independence for Hong Kong", these opposition legislators had failed to safeguard the Basic Law they had pledged to safeguard in their oaths and to safeguard order and dignity of the legislature, but instead played ostriches to bury their heads under sand or turtles retracting their heads into their shells. And yesterday, they stinted no effort and shed all pretences of cordiality to "escort" the pair to violently force their way in, doing more harm to the legislature's image and legislators' duties. Although they have taken their oaths to enter their office in Legco, their behaviour of playing dumb before matters of principle and cashing in on the situation to make trouble is also disgusting.
During the Legco meeting yesterday, nearly 20,000 protestors gathered outside the Legco complex to shout the strongest condemnation on the duo's insult of the nation and advocate for "independence for Hong Kong" and demand Leung and Yau be disqualified as legislators-elect. This represents the real popular will, and the opposition must not make any miscalculation again.
Among the participants in the demonstration outside the Legco complex yesterday, some were members of nation- and Hong Kong-loving organisations and institution, but much more were citizens spontaneously came to join. They might not necessarily all support Andrew Leung Kwan-yuen to be Legco President, nor did them come to join the protest with other purposes than a common standard and faith, that is, the nation must not be insulted and Chinese people not be bullied. The saying of "Shina" has deeply hurt the hearts of Chinese people who have not forgotten the history of the eight-year war of resistance against Japanese invasion. Had Sixtus Baggio Leung Chung-hang and Yau Wai-ching just hurled abuses at the SAR Government and Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying, there might have been no thousands of people to gather outside the Legco complex to protest and demand they be disqualified from their office. However, what they have bused is the nation and what they hurt are Chinese people. Surely Hong Kong people still have the sense of Chinese peoplehood and uprightness! Leung and Yau are unworthy to be legislators, so citizens spontaneously came out not being lured by treats.
For Sixtus Baggio Leung Chung-hang, Yau Wai-ching and other members from the opposition camp and young students, the evil trend of resisting China and making trouble in Hong Kong, disrespecting the government and the judiciary since Hong Kong's handover has reached to such an extent that it is now time to ring the alarm bell loudly and to clarify confusion and bring things back to order. Sixtus Baggio Leung Chung-hang and Yau Wai-ching are the living "negative examples" in this regard. They know nothing about love of the nation and love of Hong Kong and know nothing about history and Hong Kong's handover, but they want to "stand on the city gate and curse Chinese people" having learnt to speak a few sentences of a foreign language. Their curses have fanned the flame of fury among Hong Kong people and also prompted many to make self-reflection and self-examination. Hong Kong has already returned to the Motherland. Gone forever are the days when China was being invaded and colonised. Today, under "one country two systems", it is such an honour and with such heavy responsibilities to be a Chinese, to be a member of the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong SAR of the People's Republic of China. How one should not behave oneself with dignity and cherish the opportunity! (The End)
