Push (sth) forward (phrasal verb)

●To continue doing something or making progress in something, with effort or enthusiasm.

(推動,推進)

Examples:  

1.They are trying to push forward reforms despite resistance from the older members.  

2.Their research has pushed forward the frontiers of knowledge.

Tamper with sth (phrasal verb)

●To touch or make changes to something that you should not, often because you want to spoil it.

  (干預,竄改)

Examples:  

1.When jurors reported that they had been offered bribes, the judge told the defense not to tamper with the jury.  

2.It was clear that someone had tampered with the computer.

Create/make a scene (idiom)

●To exhibit anger, indignation, fiery temper, hysterics, etc., in a public outburst.

  (當眾大吵大鬧)

Examples:  

1. When John found a fly in his drink, he started to create a scene.  

2. I asked her to be quiet and not make a scene.

Be no match for sth/sb (idiom)

●to be not as good, strong, effective, etc., as someone or something else.

  (不如…,不敵…,比不上…)

Examples:  

1. Health warnings are no match for the addictive power of cigarettes.  

2. Despite thorough preparation, England's cricketers were no match for India.

Give vent to sth (idiom)

●To express an emotion.(發泄)

Examples:  

1. He didn't dare give vent to his annoyance in front of her parents.

2. He gave vent to his indignation in a fiery speech.
