上月初立法會選舉後，新界西當選的候任議員（legislator-elect）朱凱迪繼續製造議題吸引傳媒，風頭一時無兩；他經常掛在嘴邊的「官商鄉黑（勾結）」也成了「名言」。這是比「官商勾結」更嚴重的指控（accusation），他應該拿出證據來支持自己的指控。不過，這裏只想說說此一詞語的英文翻譯。

　　「勾結」用作動詞時英文相應的詞是collude，朗文英文詞典的解釋是：to work with someone secretly, especially in order to do something dishonest or illegal（與某人一起秘密做事，尤其是幹一些不誠實或違法的勾當），這顯然是個貶義詞。與人「勾結」可用collude with someone，如The president accused his opponents of colluding with foreigners（總統指摘他的對手勾結外國勢力）。如在某事上與他人勾結即串謀，則用collude in something，如：She knew about the plan and colluded in it（她知道該計劃且串謀其中）。如此類推，「此一項目涉嫌官商勾結」可用The government is suspected of colluding with the businesses concerned in this project。

　　Collude的名詞是collusion。要說某些人或組織互相勾結通常用collusion between...。「官商勾結」用作名詞可以是：collusion between the government and the business sector，也可譯為collusion between government officials and businesspeople。但二者含義不盡相同，前者指整個政府與整個商界相勾結，是帶有普遍性的、政治層面上的指控；後者則指某些政府官員與一些商人勾結，是個案性質的指控，屬於廉政公署調查的範圍。立法會上議員指摘的「官商勾結」英文翻譯多屬前者。

　　以此類推，「官商鄉黑」也可有兩個層面的理解。日前在《南華早報》看到的英譯是：collusion between the government, business sector, rural forces（鄉村勢力）and triad（黑社會），未知是否符合朱議員的本意？如果是，那他就是認為整個政府（當然包括警隊）與黑勢力沆瀣一氣，為何他聲稱受到威脅還敢尋求警方的保護？若他認為某些官員有勾結行為，則應到廉署報案，而非喊喊口號了事。
