沒想過政府停止運作是怎樣的一回事。撰文之時，美國聯邦政府繼2013年暫停運作後，再一次停運，只剩下國防公眾保安人員上班，但他們可能不獲發薪水。

　　　　　　　　 筆者閱報，有指本以為可以慶祝上任一周年的美國總統，卻收到民主黨的「大禮」，參議院不通過臨時撥款法案，政府被迫停運。"Trump says shutdown a 'nice present' from Democrats"；"Trump　　was unable to win passage by Congress of a stopgap bill to maintain funding for the federal government, leading to government shutdown"。

　　　　　　　　　　"shutdown"一字作名詞用，指的是停止運作或關閉。

　　　　　　　　 中國人民銀行月中明令禁止為虛擬貨幣提供服務，是繼去年九月嚴禁所有代幣融資後的另一舉措。（"The People's Bank of China has ordered financial institutions to stop provide banking or funding to any activity related to cryptocurrencies since its shutdown of crypto exchanges last September."）
