隨着美國中期選舉日益臨近，民主、共和兩黨貼身肉搏，這種「宮鬥戲」比任何荷里活大片都精彩。正在上演的「政治大戲」由美眾議院調查「國會山莊」暴亂事件的特別委員會擔綱主角，首場聽證會已宣布國會山莊暴亂為「未遂政變」，並聚焦「國內恐怖主義」。民主黨意圖藉調查暴亂事件以打擊共和黨選情，但招致對手的強烈反擊，驢象兩黨醜態畢現，民主面具碎了一地。世人在「剝花生」看鬧劇的同時，也看清美國在民主問題上操弄雙重標準的虛偽真面目。

　　去年1月6日是美國總統選舉「認證日」，大批特朗普支持者闖進國會山莊，與警方爆發激烈衝突，有多名示威者死亡。美國為首的西方政客第一時間將事件定性為「暴動」，示威者被定性為「恐怖分子」和「暴徒」。據報道，迄今已有至少824人因參與國會山莊暴亂被起訴，超過300人被定罪，其中被稱為「牛角男」的亞利桑那州男子錢斯利早前被判囚41個月。

　　在自詡「民主燈塔」的美國，在民主象徵的國會山莊，竟然發生血腥暴亂，令世界震驚，引發美國民眾及國際社會對「美式民主」的普遍擔憂和強烈質疑。對香港來說，國會山莊暴亂更是典型的反面教材，讓大家反思2019年的那場修例風波及美國在其中扮演的角色，識穿美國政客藉所謂支持「香港民主」破壞香港的醜惡嘴臉。

　　在美國政客嘴中，同樣是暴亂，在美國就是「未遂政變」，在香港卻是所謂的「美麗風景線」；同樣是暴力示威者，在美國就是「恐怖分子」，在香港則被標籤為「勇敢的示威者」；同樣是平亂，在美國是維護社會安寧，在香港卻是「打壓民主」、「警暴」，如此赤裸裸的雙重標準，令人不齒！

　　國會山莊暴亂期間有個細節，「美麗風景線」的「發明者」、美國眾議長佩洛西，當時經地下通道緊急撤退後，多次聯絡五角大樓，要求國民警衛軍盡快出動增援。其實美國暴亂不過幾個小時，美國政客已按捺不住要求出動軍隊鎮壓，華盛頓特區還實施了宵禁；反觀香港暴亂持續經年，其間燃燒彈橫飛、利刃割頸、火燒活人、飛磚殺人，恐怖程度比國會山莊暴亂更甚，但香港一直由警方應對，也沒有宵禁，美國政客卻要求中國政府「尊重示威者的權利」，這又是何其的虛偽？

　　美民主黨就國會山莊暴亂舉行聽證會，旨在指證特朗普及共和黨政客在事件中的煽動角色。回想香港黑暴期間，大批暴徒高舉美國旗、播放美國國歌，黃之鋒等搞手一再被發現與美國在港外交人員「密密斟」，並獲邀訪美，黎智英公開聲言「為美國而戰」，暴亂現場更有懷疑中情局人員監視指揮，足證美國是香港暴亂的幕後「大台」，他們的煽動角色又該如何追究？

　　曾幾何時，一些香港市民被「違法達義」等謬論誤導，奉「美式民主」為圭臬，以為美國「支持香港民主」，但國會山莊暴亂及美國政府的處理手法、美西方政客對暴力的虛偽表現，讓越來越多的港人醒悟，美國煽動修例風波是打「香港牌」圍堵中國。美國將民主「工具化」、「武器化」在世界各地製造動盪和分裂，不過是為了維護自身的霸權。事實證明，只有中央真正支持香港，關愛港人，並推動香港實現由亂到治、由治及興的根本性轉變。

American-style democracy too hypocritical and only the Central Government is truly for the benefit of Hong Kong

With the United States Midterm Election drawing nearer and nearer, the Democratic and Republican parties are engaged in hand to hand combat. Such a "palace drama" is more eye-catching than any Hollywood blockbuster. In a "political blockbuster" on show right now, the U.S. House Select Committee to Investigate the [January 6th] Attack on the Capitol plays a starring role.　　At the first hearing, it was announced that the riot at Capitol Hill was an "attempted coup" and "domestic terrorism" became a focus. The Democratic Party attempts to make use of the investigation to weaken the Republicans in the election, which however prompts strong counterattacks from its opponent. Both the Donkey [Democratic Party] and Elephant [Republican Party] show the cloven hoof with the mask of democracy torn to shreds. Eating popcorns to watching this farce, the world also sees clearly hypocritical Uncle Sam’s true colours in manipulating double standards on the issue of democracy.

On January 6th of last year, the day to confirm the result of the 2020 U.S. presidential election, a large number of Donald Trump's supporters forced their way into the Capitol building. Violent clashes erupted between the police and demonstrators, with several of the demonstrators killed. With the American politicians taking the lead, Western politicians instantly defined the incident as a "riot" and the demonstrators as "terrorists" and "thugs". As reported, hitherto at least 824 people are prosecuted with over 300 of them convicted. Among them, Jacob Chansley from Arizona, the one who wore a horned helmet at the scene, was earlier sentenced to 41 months in prison.

In the United States - the self-boasted "beacon of democracy", in the Capitol Hill – the symbol of democracy, a bloody riot could have surprisingly taken place. This shocked the world and led the U.S. public and international community to generally worry about and strongly question the "American-style democracy". For Hong Kong, the Capitol Hill riot moreover provides a typical negative example that serves as a lesson for the public to rethink profoundly the Anti-Extradition Law Amendment Bill Turmoil starting in 2019 and the role the U.S. has played in it, and see through the hideous features of American politicians trying to destroy Hong Kong on the pretext of "supporting democracy in Hong Kong".

In the language of American politicians, a riot in the United States is an "attempted coup" but in Hong Kong is a so-called "beautiful sight to behold"; violent demonstrators in the United States are "terrorists" but in Hong Kong are labeled as "brave protesters"; a crackdown on rioting in the United States is to safeguard social peace but in Hong Kong is to "suppress democracy" and "police brutality". Such undisguised double standards are really disgusting!

There was an episode in the Capitol Hill riot. The "inventor" of the phrase "a beautiful sight to behold", U.S. House speaker Nancy Pelosi, after being urgently pulled out through an underground pass, had contacted the Pentagon multiple times asking National Guard troops to be mobilised as quickly as possible for reinforcement. In fact, the riot in the U.S. only lasted several hours and American politicians already could stand it no longer and demanded military troops be sent to crack down. And a curfew was even imposed in Washington D.C. Looking back at Hong Kong, riots lasted for months, during which "Molotov cocktails" were thrown, knives were used to cut some people's necks, fire was set on a living person, bricks were hurled to kill and hurt people.... The degree of terror was far worse than the U.S. Capitol Hill riot. Yet, the riots in Hong Kong had been dealt with just by the police force alone and no curfew been imposed. And American politicians still demanded the Chinese government to "respect the rights of demonstrators". How hypocritical they are!　　

The U.S. Democrats holding hearings on the Capitol Hill riot is aimed at giving evidence against Trump and Republican politicians for the role of instigating the riot they allegedly had played. Looking back at Hong Kong, during the rioting by black-clad mobsters, a large number of thugs held aloft the American flags and played the national anthem of the United States, instigators such as Joshua Wong Chi-fung and his ilk had been found once and again to secretly meet and talk with American diplomats in Hong Kong and invited to visit the U.S., and Jimmy Lai Chee-ying even openly proclaimed "to fight for the United States". There were suspicions that CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) agents were at rioting scenes to supervise and command. All these sufficiently proved the U.S. was the "commanding centre" behind the scene. How should they be held liable for their role of instigation?

Only a short while ago, misled by fallacies such as "breaking laws to achieve justice", some Hong Kong citizens have looked up to American-style democracy as the standard and thought the U.S. "supported democracy in Hong Kong". But the Capitol Hill riot and how the U.S. government dealt with it as well American and Western politicians' hypocritical attitude toward riots awakens more and more Hongkongers. The U.S. instigated the Anti-Extradition Law Amendment Bill Turmoil for the purpose of playing the "Hong Kong card" to contain China. The U.S. "instrumentalises" and "weaponises" democracy to create turbulence and division in various places in the world simply for the purpose of safeguarding its own hegemony. As facts show, only the Central Government truly supports Hong Kong and care for Hong Kong people, and push forward Hong Kong to execute the fundamental change of being transformed from chaos to governance and gradually towards development and prosperity.
