Appeal for the government to castrate and confine wild cows

Animals roaming neighbourhoods, invading a supermarket and residential areas has once again become a hot topic of discussion in town. After some wandering cattle invaded a supermarket in Mui Wo to enjoy vegetables and fruits on the third day of the Chinese New Year, Ta Kung Pao reporters have also witnessed some hungry wandering cows entrenched nearby chewing Chinese New Year citrus plants outside the Village Office, fresh flowers and plastic tapes dumped on wasteland. Last month in Ta Wai, Sha Tin, some wild monkeys climbed a building along a drainage pipe up to over 10 floors. According to members of the local District Council, some pathfinding "vanguards" were seen recently in the housing estate, so wild monkey invading residential areas could happen again at any moment. At the same time, the problem of wild boars is even more disturbing. Last Friday, an MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) car, suspected of not pressing the brake in time, hit to death a wild boar and a Mongrel dog, and caused a three car collision. Some District Council member appealed to citizens not to feed wild animals to avoid attract them to invade residential places. Some citizens hoped the government could castrate and confine them so that wild animals could also have a place of ease and comfort.
